Specifying the correct zone ID for the ZoneID property on AddListViewWebpart or AddWebPart
Category: Info
Applies to: Kivati Studio

This article contains information that helps you specify the correct zone ID for a new web part on a web part page.

Details

When you add a web part to a web part page using the Add Web Part or Add List View Web Part task, you must provide a zone ID.  The zone ID you specify must be a valid zone ID on the web part page you are adding the web part to, or SharePoint will add the web part to the last zone on the web part page.

The table below lists the web part zones on the out-of-box web part pages that ship with SharePoint.  If you create new web part pages or page layouts, you may need to use other zones not listed in this table.
